The charming, historic Victorian neighborhood and Duffy Street are filled with beautiful homes, live oak trees and hanging Spanish moss. Best of all, the historic Forsyth Park is just steps away from the condo. The park is best known for its fountain, which is a must-see when you visit Savannah.
The condo is in a 2-story, 100-year-old brick building that was turned into four condos several years ago. It was completely renovated earlier this year, with updated stainless steel appliances and ceramic tile floors. We added furniture and decor we love. Our favorite features are the tall ceilings and roomy, open living space with lots of windows and of course, the courtyard. The private, fenced courtyard has grass, plants and chairs for a relaxing space. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to cook a gourmet meal: appliances, cookware and dishes. We provide coffee and several kinds of tea, as well as creamer and sugar for your use. We also have a washer and dryer, making the place perfect for long or short term stays. Our home is professionally cleaned before every stay and comes with clean linens, plenty of towels, toiletries and everything you’ll need.
We have one parking space that accommodates a small or mid-sized car. Guests with a larger vehicle or more than one vehicle can park on Duffy Street or other nearby streets, which have unmetered and available parking. We have wifi access, with high-speed internet. We have a limited cable TV package and an Amazon Fire Stick that can be used to access any of your TV subscriptions.
The charming, historic Victorian neighborhood is filled with beautiful homes, many of them over 100 years old. There are also several restaurants and a grocery store within a block:
— The Sentient Bean is a coffee shop with great lunch options.
— Betty Bombers has great casual, bar food.
— Local 11Ten, located in an old bank building that includes a booth in the bank vault, has some of the best food in the city.
— Brighter Day is a small, Whole-Foods type of grocery store on the corner.
Best of all Forsyth Park is just steps away from the condo. The largest park in Savannah, it has large open spaces for playing, two kids’ playgrounds, tennis courts, basketball courts, beautiful monuments and countless, massive oak trees. It is best known for its fountain, which is a must-see when you visit Savannah.
The riverfront and Bay Street are about a mile from our condo, so walking is our usual mode of transportation in the downtown area. But for people who prefer to ride, Savannah’s free shuttle, known as The Dot, can be boarded near Forsyth Park on Park Avenue, less than a block from our condo. We have included a map in the condo that includes information about where to find it.
